Playing a SnG 1st level with 10/20 blinds. UTG doubles the BB and makes it 40 to go. My initial read was a medium PP in the 7-9 range. I have QJ and smooth call. Folds to the blinds and both of them call as well.
Flop is Q 3 J rainbow. The blinds check to the original raiser and he bets 100. I make it 500 to go. Both blinds and the original raiser call!
Turn is K and checked to me. Fearing the straight draw, I push for my last 900. Everyone calls! SB has AK, BB has Q9 and the original raiser has 99. This is not good, as I was hoping to isolate someone. Ayway, the river brought the case 9 and I, along with three other geeks were out!
I am wondering if I should have pushed the flop, or was I doomed anyway I played it? I really didn't anticipate the blinds smooth calling my raise with the original raiser left to act last, but that didn't really matter because the original raiser ended up with the pot anyhow.

you got hosed
in retro you can try to say "hey what if i raised to 600" etc
the truth is there is no perfect number to raise to here ... i like 500
unfortunately since you dont know your oppponents, you dont know what raise will knock out just a few of them and which won't scare any of them away
well played in my book ... you got hosed

Yup - flopped top two pair on a rainbow board and you bet the flop strongly. The move you made should have isolated the Q9 (maybe). Personally, with an AK, Q9, or 99 and seeing a bet like this on the flop, I doubt I've even call with the Q9, which in my opinion, might be the only hand who would stay with it.
