Odd SnG hand

Posted Wed Aug 31, 2005 1:59 am GMT by TheSalche
To be honest ... I don't know how well or how poorly I played this hand. I will say I was ready to call a river push, but it would've been a crying call.

To preface this, I have a fairly bad table image at this point ... the players think I'm an idiot luckbox (and I really was after some of the things I said in the chat, and a few of the hands I played in).

Not much of a read on villain since I was 4-tabling at this point.

I think I might continuation bet a bit more on the flop, maybe 700-800, just in case he had a flush draw. If he called I’d hope to check the turn and river as you did.

At the end of the day you have Ace high and he’s limp-called and check-called which scares me. If I could now get to the showdown cheap I would.

Tough one.

If you bet anymore on the flop you'd have over half your chips in the middle. Any less and its a no brainer for him to call. If you put him on a draw and fired again on the turn you'd basically be all-in.

Pushing all-in sucks too because you're only going to get called by something that has you beat.

He has K5 or A5.

I’d gona guess at face card Spade face card Spade, 9Spade TSpade or something crazy like 5x since you don’t seem happy with the hand.

Ace with a big kicker offsuit with the kicker in spades or a low to mid-pp that didn't make a set?

Pretty standard, you raised pre flop, missed to a pretty safe flop & made a continuation bet. Once he calls, I would be prepared to check it down & fold to any big bet - Not sure why you would be eager to call the river bet if it was all in - You would have to be praying that he was flat out bluffing with a hand like KQ, KJ. Too many hands that can bet your Ace high to call an all in river bet.
