Treasure Island will open a poker room very soon. For those of you not familiar w/ MN poker, everywhere is a little goofy. Let me explain:
Canterbury: great poker action, no hotel, if you want to play BJ, $.50 fee/hand, tournaments are big and well run, NL only $220 and up, 20 minutes for Cities
Hinkley: horrible action, 3-4 tables for about 16 hours/day, 5/10 limit max and rarely over 2-10 spread, hotel, booze, slots and poker, 60-90 minutes for Twin Cities
Mille Lacs: see Hinkley
Treasure Island: action-who knows, booze, blackjack, hotel, 40 minutes for Cities, maybe lower buyin tournaments? If they do it right, this place could have it all. I would rather pay my rake to a public corporation(Canterbury -ECP), but the Native Americans can have a piece if they make it a great room.

Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. NL tournaments, no NL ring games. They do have 2/60 spread...close enough?
Current law says that the biggest bet can be $60, so 30/60 is max limit for limit ring games.
I dont know if the Indians HAVE to follow those rules, or if they CHOOSE to.
Do any of you that play live NL games worry about collusion? I would. 2 players could really clean up w/ just 3-4 hands a night.

i play primarily NL live and generally am not worried about collusion. I tend to see a lot more softplaying between friends.
