How is a pot split betwen tied winners when the pot is an odd amount like $65 since there are no 50 cent chips?

High card for the extra buck or something, use your discretion.

In on-line and most other games the extra chip(s) go to the first winner(s) to the left of the dealer(button). Just like you were dealing the chips one at a time till you run out.

We normally just cut for it in home games.
At one point though we picked up the crazy idea that it should be put to one side and the next showdown the two players get into decides who wins it. This was a lot of hassle to remember for one chip.

Thanks for clearing it up for us. We had 3 ties the other night and we were cutting high card for the extra chip. Since most of our group hopes to get ready to go online after we get better , I will telll them the first winner from the dealer custom.

Casinos always give an extra chip (in the smallest denomination being used) to the player with the worst position.
