I broke out of a live game slump last night, $1140 in 5 hours of 8/16.....CHA CHING!
Some beautiful hands (if i do say so myself), 4-6 callers each and w/ 2-3 typically showing down:
10 7 , LP one limper, I raise, 5 call.
Flop: Q :hearts: 7 6
Turn: 9
River: 8
I bet and was called each time, my 1st live str8 flush (got me a ugly Canterbury Hat)
5 4 lots if limpers, I raise LP, 8 way action
Flop j 6 2 i bet, I get check raised, 6 call
Turn k hmmmm check raiser bets, I call 4 others call
River 3 BINGO, we 3 bet w/ AJ and 2 pair losing to my nuts
7 9 i call a preflop raise w/ 2 callers MP end up capping 5 way
Flop 8 3 2 i call a bet on the flop
turn 6 blind bets, someone 2 bets....
now, I dont really have pot odds, but who can really put me on 97, so if i hit it will be the nuts and i will likely get 2-3 bets, I call
River 5 blind comes out again, raiser raises, I 3 bet, both call, nice
9 7 i raise preflop 4-5 call
Flop 6 7 4 i bet, blind check raises, I 3 bet 4 remain
turn 5 i bet, button raises, all fold, I call
river 8 board now 87654, i check (MISTAKE) button checks, expecting to get a counterfieted split pot, his jaw fell when I showed 97
One more-this was BEAUTIFUL.....same player as above, K 5 in the BB I call a preflop raise.
Flop A 9 4 I check raise flop 4-5 way action
Turn 8 I bet, 2 call
River 5 I bet again, one calls
I PROUDLY show my K5 for a pair of 5s. He in his palm 6-12" above the table shows a 9 w/ 2nd card underneath. THEN HE MUCKS! The dealer takes his hand into the muck and pushes me the pot. Then 3-4 people point out to him that he just mucked a $200-250 pot with the winner after calling the river bet. He thought I showed 2 pair (my cards were still laying face up on the table). HA HA, respect is nice!
Fun night. The action at these games is incredible, you almost need $800-1000 to play safely. Even during my cold streak, it was always BIG long shots on BIG pots that cost me. It was nice to give a little payback.

You know, you guys really are nuts up there. Congrats, though, to the King Nut.

I've made $550 at 3/6, so a grand at 8/16 is doable. Still an awesome night though, Dave.

Did someone get shot for this? I don't know how it works around your parts, but around here, men get killed for two 7 in the deck!
