At my 2nd ever casino visit I posted a net result of +$150 at 1-2NL over 2 1/2 hours. Live play is extreeeeemely slow, I felt like I could play 12 tables of live 1-2NL if my body was able to. I had to fight the urge of going downstairs to watch slots being played since that seemed more exciting than the "Wait till the idiot on my right calls before throwing my cards at the dealer.." action.
Now the players... WOW is all I can say. I can't believe (ok I can) how bad these guys are. The best player at my table was a 48 year old lady who was always uncontested in her raises and had pocket aces 3 times. Before I even sit down at the table I scope it out while I wait for my name to be called.. 3rd hand I'm watching a kid with an "I'm All-in" WPT shirt goes all-in UTG for about $27. It's folded around to some 18 year old that looks 16 and he calls. UTG flips over KJo, 16 year old flips over 9-3o! "WOW"
Right before they call my name to take a seat I'm on the rail and see this kid lift his AA. He raises to $7 and WPT Shirt guy is in MP and calls. Everyone else folded and flop comes 3-9-j. AA dude raises $10 and the fat "I'm all in" shirt guy (with shades, dont forget..) raises all-in. AA quickly calls and flips it over... Mr. WPT flips over A-4o! He gets no help and says "What can I do? I ran into aces." I laugh as the whole time he's on the rail talking to his buddies about how he was doing good but ran into aces. Later I see him in a 3-6 game, i shoulda visited that table..
Mr. 16 year old also likes to pull the same move... junk flop and he goes all-in with Ace-5o, guy calls with KK and he's out. Both shitty players out before I even take their money Luckily he comes back later with more money.
The whole night is with idiots calling down with a Queen on Ace-9-Ace-Queen-Queen board while I hold an ace and the other guy holds queen... When it's time to flip over the cards he's like "You have an A?" Uhh... no buddy I just raised the flop, reraised the turn, reraised the river with pocket twos! Of course I have a frikin ace, everyone and their mother knows I have an ace. I basically only took down 3 pots and a few blinds/limpers $. Next time I visit I'll lurk around the 2-5NL... it looked kinda tough but very profitable. Actually I don't know if it was tough but there were two players who thought they were the shit talking all day and had stacks of $700-1000 in front of em (max buy-in is $200 I thought.. so obviously took someones money) But some players from my table went over there, so I basically coulda took their money faster and avoid confrontations with the ballers.
Why am I posting this? Who fkin' knows... enjoy.

That happen at Jackson blue? Told ya it was great pickings up there.
Full of kids who watch too much Poker TV and don't read enough Poker books, and senior citizens with fat pensions and not much care about cards. Gotta love Jackson.

That's a good story.
I was in Vegas during the main event and was playing 4/8 at the Golden Nugget. I was sat with a couple people that just busted out of the main event that day and our table was right next to the 5/10 NL table.
It was funny...there wasn't a doubt in anyone's mind that anybody at that NL table would have been absolutly eaten alive had they sat down at 4/8. It was a good night in general. I was a nooB that got to play with a lot of really solid players and I ended up holding my own for a good 6 hours.
Good times.

Yeah, it was at jackson diamondcutter. Have you ever played 2-5NL there? If so, how is it?

Nah, I don't think the 2-5 NL is that good a value... the max buy-in is only 40 BB, which adds a lot of variance to an already volatile game. The 1-2 is usually much softer, and I usually split time between the 1-2 NL and the 3/6, which is almost always extremely soft. The 3/6 usually has a lot of nice juicy pots and you can get HUGE drawing odds. The NL tables have a lot of small pots and a few really big ones, and can often get the best of it with a hand as low as TPTK. I'll never forget the time a guy pushed all-in to my re-raise with AK on a A-7-5 flop, and I saw him turn over 64o. What a game.

Yeah, I've played 3/6 once and only took down 2 and a half pots over about an hour and half for +60$. Pots are HUGE and you can't get anyone off their hand.

I forgot to mention the guys who try to coach you. They say "nice hand" after anyone takes down a pot without showing.. they chit-chat with eachother to make each other feel better over everyone else. They throw out terms they don't even know like "expectation bet" ? They also suck at counting pot odds.
The crappy 16 year old would always raise with junk and fold if he had nothing... so he raises in LP and I decided I would play against him with anything and call. Turns out I have AJsoooooooooted, bonus. Flop comes 8-4-4 and he looks like an idiot and checks.. I bet $15 .. he throws his chips in. Turn comes 2. he checks, I bet $25, he folds. The guy next to me says "Haha you didn't have anything I would have flopped a boat I had 8-4. You shouldn't have bet"
I respond, "I had overpair, queens. He didn't have anything"
Smartdude replies, "Nah man, you have to be done with those if you don't hit your queen. They are no good without 3 of a kind."
I laugh out loud for the next orbit at the guys stupidity.
Later in the game it's two players against each other, SB and Smartdude in LP. Flop comes 8-10-2, SB bets, Smartdude calls. turn jack, SB bets - Smartdude calls. River 10, SB checks- Smartdude checks.
Smartdude flips over 8-10 for a fullhouse and SB mucks... his reasoning behind not betting? "I didn't know if he had pocket jacks or not"
Ugh, hurray for shitty people.

I had a guy at my table many months ago in a cheap casino tourney. He picked up a nice pot when his Q3o hit trip 3’s on the flop. It happened again a couple of hands latter and he was sold.
The guy just wouldn’t shut up about it, maybe he wrote horoscopes for a living because he came out with stuff like “And I was born on the 3rd of March! Bla bla”.
Anyway his nice stack was gone as soon as the freeze-out hit and everyone changed gear. When leaving he actually complained that he couldn’t pick up a 3.
I hated that night, I ended up missed the final table by one seat when I moved all-in with KK and lost to AKo.

Great story Bluefox, my cousin went there and played hold-em at jackson, he said he could NOT push people out of hands who are basically rich loose players i guess he was right.
