What happens between hands? |

Hi,
I am new to Texas Hold 'Em and have read a lot of versions concerning the rules of a Texas Hold ‘Em and they’ve all helped me with everything from dealing to the showdown, but I’m still curious about what happens between hands.
I want to hold a game at home and was wondering if you shuffle the cards after every hand and deal a fresh deck or is this done less frequently? Also, if the cards aren’t shuffled in what order are they collected and are they put back at the bottom of the deck. I have a game for 8 players planned.
Thank you in advance…

The cards are shuffled after every hand.
The dealer is changed after every hand (if self dealt).
If you want to do it like a self dealt casino game:
- At the end of the hand the winner collects the pot.
- The player to the left of the current dealer becomes the new dealer.
- He collects the muck, board and player cards.
- He shuffles the cards.
- He puts the deck in front of the player to his immediate right, who cuts the deck.
- He then picks up the deck and deals the hand.
You can you use 3 player in this process if you’re very distrustful I.e. One collects the cards and shuffles them, one cuts the deck, one deals.

In our home games we use two differenr colored decks. While one is being dealt, the other one is shuffeled. When one hand is over, the next one is dealt fairly soon after. Just speeds up the game a little.

Multiple decks are fine. Just be wary of doing what this guy did.
