Poster TR 1988 uses this as his tagline:
Await the right moment for one, and only one well-aimed shot.
- Vassili Zaitsev
It is the code of the sniper.
So what's your poker style? Do you wait in the bushes like an assasin? Stand in the middle of the OK coral with 6-guns blazing? Swoop down from the heights and mercilessly pounce upon targets of opportunity?
My sense of NL poker (at least in the casinos) is that a trapping, cagey style is the most effective. Patience is everything...as with the sniper. That's why I prefer limit...I get to play a hell of a lot more hands and I can blaze away when the moment's right. Now Brunson may advise that you play NL exactly the same way...but how many of us have his bankroll?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I thought the code of the sniper was 'wear thick clothes and prepare to get bored.'

Everyone is expecting this answer.........
It depends.
It depends on my opponents and their style of play, whether or not I'm hitting big hands, how underestimated I am, etc.
Usually I'm the sniper waiting for the young cowboy to fire his six shots so I can take him down while he is defenseless, but it varies. I have a long attention span so patience isn't an issue when I'm playing poker (exact opposite when I'm driving though ).

wow muck...
that's very impressive that you can just drop a map in there like that. I find it a major challenge using the italics.
Saw a movie about Wales once. Ahab was such a whack job, but I kinda liked Ismael. Is that a Welsh name?

Sarcasm? I was just joking about the lack of knowledge most people have about the geography of the UK. E.g. All people who live in the UK live in London.
Hey I’ll happily admint that I don’t know where your state is located...middle leftish?
EDIT: Just looked it up. Damn I thought it would be about where Wyoming is. Well at least I know now.

I was proud to say that I know exactly where Wales is. Many of my ancestors were of Welsh origin.
My state's in the middle of the east coast. If you look on the dopplar radar it's the one just north of the state getting hammered by Hurricane Ophelia right now.

no sarcasm on the map thing, really. I do wish I could do that stuff. Right now I'm not too comfortable putting the quotes is those neat little white boxes.
