Tough AJ OOP

1/2 NL, effective stacks 100BB.

I have A Diamond J Club in MP3. CO is a little loose preflop, pretty tight passive post, although he does tend to fish for draws without odds.

I raise to 10$ into 1 limper, CO calls, button calls, limper calls. pot 41$/

Flop A Spade 6 Heart 7 Club
-- I want to fold my hand knowing it is second best, but CB anyway.
-- Limper checks, I bet 31, CO calls, button folds, limper folds.

Turn 8 Heart pot 100
-- I check, he bets 50, I fold.

Is this weak tight?

Do you think he would he be capable of playing a connector or an AX vs. a raise? Or call 3/4 with a gutshot draw?

I'm also thinking an ace that just made two pair or a draw.

If it is weak/tight?

I think the check on the turn made it very difficult to know where you were at in the hand, alot of players fire almost automatically in NL if you check here, even with nothing.

But then again, AJ with the ace is often a horrible hand to play.

golf, it seems like you put up hands w/bloated pot sizes. work on your pot control.

i think you could still be ahead here, go w/your read. raise or fold. this feels a lot like Ax to me.

as for preflop, i think betting $8 here will do the same effect as betting $10. this way, you'll work w/a $32 pot instead of $40 and later streets will be cheaper to play.

i agree, keep the pot a bit smaller preflop ... i know pacific guys play with crap hands but that doesn't mean they never call with AQ and AK

i think you have to bet the turn here or bet smaller on the flop ... another possible line is c/r the turn, but that may be NL chip spewage there

Were you, in your mind, folding to two pair, or three aces, or a straight?
