QQ in tournament, call or pass to all in.

okay, this happened last night in a live tournament.
Blinds are 250/500 my stack is around 9,700. Its 3hrs45 in, and average stack is around 6,000.

4th position limps, one of the button raises to 1500 and im in the SB with Q Q. I am out of position post flop, and opt to re riase, I re raise 3,000 more on top of the 1500. The early/mid guy who limped decides to go all in and the late raiser quickly passes. Quite frustrated I ask for a chip count from the dealer realising that this guy has to have something very strong, with the call and his re raise it is 3,900 back on me- I reluctantly make the call ( probably helped by the fact that it is the last hand before the break and people are moving about etc) and he obviously turns over AA.
I knew at the time there is a high probability he was playing KK,AA and a slim chance of a fishy player overplaying AK, but I thought something that threw me off was the fact that he limped in midish position ,and the table was pretty tight- I had played pretty agressive and may have re raised the late pos guy simply cos i knew it was a steal.
If i pass I am still alive with 4,200 ish and if i call there is around 21,000 in the pot.
Later on I thought it out and thought 2 things,1-maybe i should have called, his limp didnt give me much indication of the strength of his hand,if i call i see what he does in response the the position raise ( and i would most likely pass when he re riases). Saving me money.
And 2- He had to have QQ beat, i was obviously pisssed off when he came over the top but when there is around 14,000 in there and i have to put 4,000 in I almost felt compelled to call after my re raise. I think it was stubborness and the fact i was a little hurried.

I guess im asking anyone if they think i should have made the call after i have re raised or muck and muck fast.
Any input would be much appreciated .

The "last hand before the break" bit is the most important thing to me here.
Although I only play online, never live, I always set my sights on reaching the break and therefore won't commit my whole stack just before the break very lightly.
Call the first raise and if the AA guy goes all in fold it down. It still stings to have to fold Queens but you'll hit the break still with a decent stack and when the action restarts you should have had time to forget this hand and focus your mind on the hands to come.

One thing to remember is that a good fold can often lead to a strong performance in a tournament. Preserving your chips for another hand can sometimes prove as important as actually winning a hand. Who knows, the first hand after the break might see you holding the AA!

1:What about when nobody else raises? You have zero information, out of position, with a vulnerable hand. I'm not saying this absolutely HAS to be a re-raise from the SB, but saying that it would've saved you money is true, but not really relevant, it's just a consequence of the results, and focusing on results is never a good thing.

2:After the way you played it, this is an absolute no brainer of a call.

Based on the info you provided, I would make that call every time. If this tourney is online, I would put the limper on small pocket pair that originally he was planning on playing for a set with multiple callers, but based on the action decided to just go for it and hope to be facing a 53/47 situation heads-up. I know this was live so it may not play out this way, but you can't put him on AA or KK when he limped at a tight table. It's a very strange play that could easily have back-fired on him if he let's something like QJ suited see the flop on the cheap and then gets cracked.

Anyway, I say push and take your lumps if you have to...if you're lucky, both these guys have AK and you're odds of winning go up from there! If you're unlucky, he holds AA and you're screwed Smile
