If the flop cards are Q,8,6,5,4 and player #1 had 7,10 and player #2 has 7,5 does player #1 win or do you split the pot in Texas Holdem? We had this happen in our home game and I said player #1 should win. Am I correct?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

In this case, it's a split pot. Remember, in Holdem, although you have 7 cards at your disposal, only 5 of them matter when it comes to the showdown.
Both players have a straight, 8 high (natch) and that is it. Whether a guy holds an Ten or a Five with his 7 is completely inconsequential as it's all about the 5 cards.
The only way this could have been different is if someone held 7,9 because that would have made a straight, 9 high. Hope this helps...
