Good Time
Posted Mon Oct 03, 2005 10:35 am GMT by UrAteUp This past Friday night I took my wife and father-in-law to a local casino to see a show. We planned on staying the night. They went to see the Smothers Bros and I went to gamble. The holdem tables were packed so I stayed away and played blackjack all evening. Played for 5 hours straight and finally finished in the hole by $70.
Sunday afternoon the wife and I went back to the floor to gamble some more before heading home. I saw the 2-4L table had a sign up sheet on it so I signed up. After about 2 hours I was finally able to set down and play some poker.
I was getting great cards and hitting some wonderful hands. My first hand was AK . I was in the BB so I checked to see the flop. Flop came out . The first to act bet $2. Everyone stayed in and I knew I was on a nut flush draw so I didn't want to scare anyone away so I just called. The turn card was a 3. The first person to act bet $4. He was called by 1 person and then myself. The river came out and it was a 10 . Again lead bet $4. The next person to act raised to $6. In my little southern accent I came back with "Let's raise that to $8 gentlemen." Both guys called and were amazed to see my nut flush.
I was on hands like this the whole time I played. It started getting late and I knew I had about an hour drive back home so I called it after I got my $70 back and a little gas money to go with it. All in all it was a great time and I am swearing two things. 1) Not to invest in blackjack when the cards are not falling my way. 2) Play more casino texas holdem, limit or no-limit.
