Live 3/6 this weekend

Posted Mon Oct 03, 2005 1:24 pm GMT by Loonbat
$3/6 FL (with a full-kill) at the Trump in NW Indiana (Mindgame and Dave hate it here)

Highlight of my favorite hand:

A Diamond 3 Diamond on my kill (it was a 6/12 hand and I had a forced post of $6) 2 before the button

1 limper, so I raise to $12. Limper calls.

note: Limper is a former dealer who sees alot of flops, but plays a solid post-flop game

Flop comes 2 diamonds (no pair) and limper checks, I bet $6, he raises to $12 and I call.

Turn: Q Diamond He bets. I check my cards (playing the "do I have a diamond" tell) and then call.

River: Blank

He bets $12, I raise to $24, he reraises to $36, I reraise to $48, he calls. He shows a K high (or maybe a J high) flush and I take the pot.

Ran about 7 hands in a row during this rush and left up $200 (after giving back a little over a hundred).

8 out of last 10 live sessions have been profitable.

Actually, I have never played the Trump. I have only been in 2 live games in E Chicago, both at Harrahs/Resort.

Ahh - it must have been only Mindgame berating my "home" poker room ...

And the money is so soft on weekends ...

Did you think about raising the turn...I mean, any diamond on the river kills your action. Especially seeing he had the 2nd nuts, you could've maybe picked up another big bet or so.

I considered it (briefly), but knew the opponent was aggressive. The chance of another diamond popping is about 1 in 6 and I figured it was worth the risk. Plus, I really didn't want to give anything away at this point. After the hand, he said he put me on a set (probably Qs).
