Selective memory

I've probably played 30 hours online since Friday and have received (and given) several bad beats.

Disclaimer: The following is just general complaining, so feel free to disregard.

Worst I took:

Shortstack (about 8 BBs) in $10 MTT in EP. Dealt AA - raise to 3 BBs, guy in late MP reraises to 5 BBs, guy after calls. I push all in, raise allin (a few more chips), call ...

Me: AA
Villian: KK (about the same as me, slightly more)
Sucker: AK (Has us both covered)

Flop comes TTx (rainbow), so I'm feeling pretty good ...
Turn: K
River: not an Ace, so who the hell cares ...
Well, it's all good ...

$3 MTT - started with about 1800 people and down to 14 of us. I'm 2nd in chips with about 350K.

Not really bad beats, just beaten starting hands.

In two hands I lost 300K of my stack. First was with TT against A7o, where I was the one who pushed preflop and he wasn't a shortstack.

Second was SB vs BB (me in the small) with ATs ... pushed the BB, he reraised and I had him well covered. I was happy to see his KTs, until the flop and the K.

Finished 10th overall ... :::sigh:::

And a couple I gave.

5-table SnG turbo ... about 1/2 people gone, I have 3 BBs and am sitting in the BB position. Button raises my 63o. I push my feeble stack and figure I'm not a huge dog against 1 hand. His AK loses when I spike a 6 on the river. I ended up winning this one (I vaguely remember me sucking out a couple more times in this one).

Different 5-table SnG turbo. Shortstack UTG (about 8 BBs) and pick up 99. Push allin and hate to see two calls behind ... KK and JJ. Spike a 9 on the river and go on to win.

It all balances out, right?

That's some major zen right there.

I've been up for 24 hours writing a paper now.

So I decided to play a MTT just to kick back and relax and wait for a good time to sleep, so I wouldnt wake up at 0400 AM and feel rested.

I see mostly trash, and some I get AA with a limper behind. I bump it about 5x, get reraised for all my stack. I call and lose vs (too his defence he was seriously bigstacked, I'm guessing he was just trying to bully me off) K4.

And I just relaxed and smiled really...I knew it was +EV.

AA - the only way to fly!

Now excuse while I go crash into my bedpost.
