beating AA?

Howdy. Purely theoretical. Preflop, odds wise, am I right that 56 suited is the best chance at beating AA?

If it's a different suite than AA holds then yes, but by such a slim margin over other middle suited connecters I am not sure it's even worth being considered. 0.1% better than say 67s

Your only slightly ahead of say JJ with different suites as well to put it in perspective.

What I don't understand is why 56s is just as good as 67s; won't the two Aces the other player hold hurt the chances of a straight Ace-five?

It won't hurt 56s chances at a straight because 56 doesn't need the A, all it needs is 234.

it's the same. Same for 78s as well. The reason for this is that a flop that would make a straight for you can't make a higher straight for the AA

It is not the same. 56s is slightly better.

The high end of the straight for 78 would be 9 10 J Q. A king would then make a higher straight for the A.

With 56, the high straight would be 7 8 9 10. The J would then split the pot, not win it for the Ace.

When I run the odds for 56 and 67, 56 comes out better by .1%. Does anyone know why that would be??? I can't figure that one out. Seems like 56 and 67 should be the same.

I think they should be exactly the same too.

Which odds calculator are you using?

no offense ... this post is pointless ...

you're best chance at beating AA preflop is folding

</a**hole>

p.s. sorry im pissed off, i just lost a very nice 7CS pot at which i had aces up by 5th street, some ahole with total junk up, something like K5103 maybe 2 of same suit calls me down to the river and catches the CASE 5 (other one was dead) ... unless he was rolled up, which he played about as passively as possible
