Man up until two weeks ago, I was doing great in the tournaments i played whether sit and go or multi. And for the past two weeks I have been loosing every way possible, and most tournaments end with me loosing to a serious underdog, two three outs and such. I have no idea what to do to get back on track. Should i keep playing as much as possible, take a few days off, go to lower limits to get the feel of winning back or what?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Question: Why don't I stop being an a**hole to new people?
Answer: I can't find their brains.

There is more to your 'problem' then you probably realize. Also, you have not given enough information about yourself, no one can help you without understanding how you currently play. That being said, I am always happy to give $.02.
Your going to blow money tilting, loosing your bankroll and depositing etc; so, why not take some of that money and invest in some good poker books? I think reading why the pro's are successful is the first place to start. Combine your study with regular play, and I bet you start to improve.

I've read all the books and still am missing something. Maybe i just have to get used to losing to lousy players. Once i accept that maybe my game will get better. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????

First off, yes, that's often the case.
Second off, chances are you're just not as good as you think you are. Much more often the case.

How can getting used to loosing to 'lousy' players make your game any better? If your game were anything now, then you wouldn't consistently lose to lousy players--they would pay you.
That's the whole point--it's always frustrating to sit at a table with a guy who will play anything, go all in with nothing, and then have other players make fun of him? What the hell for, we wan't him at the table.
I'm not saying your a horrible player, we all make mistakes.
For example: Today I got involved in a hand with a weak player--by weak I simply mean he was playing badly, or worse then me.
The flop gave me top pair--it's only him and me in the hand as I raised preflop and he was the only caller.
He checks the flop and I bet--he only calls.
The turn is a blank and again he checks--I bet, and again he only calls.
Now I think he is chasing, has pocket something.
River comes a seven.
Finally he bets--he goes all in.
At this point I am angry. I know he has finally made his hand--on the river. I even say to myself, o.k. he just made his set with the pocket he is holding. But, what do I do--I call. Bingo, he shows set and takes the pot.
The reason I told that long boring story is that I bet, if you look at your own game, you'll find lousy players aren't beating you--your game simply has leaks like the above--and your beating yourself.

You can also be exptecting simple variance. It's a popular thing to say to poker players' you are not as good as you think you are', and it very often holds true - for everyone! Also for those who say it. But there is also point that randomness in statistics indicate that everyone will at some time lose over longer periods of time, even if you play a winning style.
Hence the popular saying 'even when you are winning you could be losing, even when you are losing you could be winning'.
That means that the many flaws in any poker player's game are as likely to be there in winning periods as well as losing periods.
Though a couple of new ones often pop up if you get frustrated ofcourse, so take a break...look at your games...see if you see anything ugly. Post hands and think of the game.

I think if I had to wager on whether a new poker player was experiencing variance or a serious lack of skill, I'd MUCH rather put my money in on the latter.

That's true ofcourse, and I agree completely, but you don't necessarily suck even though you are on losing streak either. Faults are faults, and everybody has them...but it is just as important to look for them when winning as when losing.

Personally, I have no faults.

Now your just nitpicking and postpadding, but okay...all poker players _except supafrey_ have faults.

Hello Everyone, my name is Justin. I'm new, and sure there is a category for new guys, but i haven't found it yet.
OK, i know this is strange me quoting myself. lol - But I had forgot about signing up to this forum and today just recieved a notice that a PM had arrived. Surprised I remembered my password. So i pulled this up and searched to see if i had posted before. There it was - one post, and God was I clueless.
My name and user name on most sites is Justin Monk, MonkJustin on Stars. I WAS missing something in my game back when i posted this original post. I made some changes and started winning in November 2005, and have never had to deposit again. Playing and winning most of the $ was on Pokerroom, when they shut down to US players, I started playing Stars more. Just recently started with full tilt. I'm sorry, Don't take this as a brag post from the new guy, cause thats not what i'm tryingt to do. Just wanted to introduce myself, Good luck all.
