How tight should you play when your only playing with 4 players including yourself in a tournament where only top 2 win money. also how often should you bluff since there's probably nobody out there with a reallyg good hand?

I'd really appreciate your strategies. thanks :D Spade Heart Diamond Club

You shouldn't play tight. With 4 players you have to loosen up, see more flops, play the players and basically forget about the cards.

Do you differ between bluffing and aggresiveness? Never call with this few people. Raise or fold.

Less people means you’re ahead more often. It’s not bluff rather you’ve lowered your standards to allow for the reduced field.

Think of it this way, you’re playing 1 card poker, highest card wins. At a 10 player table you’d probably fold a Jack in EP, at a 3 player table you’d probably raise.

The second reason for aggression comes from short handed play normally occurring at the end of an STT or MTT so the blinds are very large in relation to stack size. Which also encourages involvement in hands.

Play tight fourhanded and you won't get any action when you have good cards. Expect your stack to swing a little more because you may lose a little more when you bump into premium hands and vice versa.

I'd keep in mind that position is the ultimate key to winning shorthanded and head's up games.

the less player you have then the weaker hands like KTo or QJo go up in value... hitting even a top pair might be good enough to take down the pot depending on the situation. play more hands and make more plays, 4 handed allows you to do much more variety.

i often raise before the flop and after the flop if i hit anything( a draw middle pair, top pair). But i often get just flat calls when i bet when im bluffing. when i made a decent bet aftet the flop people call me and i sometimes think well maybe i should just cut my losses and check to the river. i guess i should make a read on a player
