i borrowed a DVD by him and it was pretty basic. however i do like how we clasisifies players Jackal- unpredictable
elephant-calling station
mouse-very tight player
lion-makes overall good decisions

also if u ever watch his DVD he sitting at a poker table and pulls one of his books from under the table and it just looks silly. its hillarious and he just makes an ass of himself. i just replay that part over and over.

I've read it and though it's been some time since I did so if I recall correctly he reccommends reraising with hands like 44 and says $100 or $200 is enough for playing $1/$2. Hmmm, don't think I'll read any more of his stuff.

Too bad he left out the cockroach. Now there is nasty bugger. Evolution at its finest.

The only book I've read by him was the one with the poker stories in it. I don't need Phil's voice in my head while I'm playing poker. I already have too many in there as it is. Laughing

I thought it was decent. Not what I was expecting and after reading only one or two more, I already have issues with it. But I think it's definitely worth the read.

I acctually liked Phils book, but I am a huge fan of his play in general too! He gives a real clear view of the game that has helped me alot....

I haven't read it but have heard bad things about it. I'm currently reading Harrington's books and from what i've read its a very good 2 volume set.

His style works for him, but I have never read it and don't plan to. I heard too many bad things about it.

The book was truly awful and gives absolutely no insight into how Phil plays Poker.

1st Question - Yes

2nd Question - Useful, it keeps my kitchen table from wobbling perfectly since I stuck it under it.

it was the first one i read, and i liked it way back then because it was basic and helped me learn the fundamentals. i've tried reading it a few days ago and it is just waaay to basic for me now. a solid book for beginners or those who havent read a poker book before.
