£5 + 1 multi table nl tourney and this REALLY bugged me.
I swear I had played a damn good tourney and after nearly 3 hours I was sitting on the final table, 8 players left.
One of these was a complete idiot as far as I could see. When we first got to the final table he was chip leader with nearly 100,000 chips. In no time he was down to just over 25,000. He was pushing all in or calling huge bets with rubbish. Only God knows how he had got so far.
Anyhow I was sitting ok with 40,000 chips when I got A J. I doubled the blinds and this guy calls me. Flop came J 9 2. He bet, I shoved all in, he calls and he flips up Q 9o. Turn was nothing, river....9! I'm crippled...
Next hand the same guy takes a huge pot off another big stack by chasing and hitting a straight. Then I'm in the big blind with A 8 and sure enough the same guy goes all in again. I could have folded but I figured he was just stealing so I called. He had Q 10 and rivered a 10 to knock me out.
I know that wasn't much of a beat, I think A 8 is only slight favourite over Q 10, all the same it pissed me off.
When I left this guy was chip leader again and probably won the whole thing for all I know. I know this is nothing as far as bad beat stories go but it just really bugged me to lose to this guy.
Thing is, in mtts I always seem to get taken out by total morons. U play well for like 3 hours just to get fuked up by some idiot who plays like a buffoon and just seems to win....
