I'm looking for some good poker players who play on a regular basis. I will sponsor your bankroll. E.g. $100/week.

e-mail me with some details concerning your poker experience. How long have you been playing? How many hours you play per week?

Why? A good player doesn’t need a sponsor so you’ll only end up with people who can’t play consistently.

I'm looking to be sponsored, but what with my taste for $100 + buy in tourneys and $5/$10 NL......... $100 wouldn't last me more than a few mins Razz

Maybe he’s just harvesting the e-mail addresses, I don’t know.

If he’s looking for people to back he should just go to rec.poker 3 posts out of 4 are losers shouting “BACK ME FTW. PLZ!!! I’VE GOT SKILLZ”

I don't think there's anything wrong really with having a backer. I used a backer to play in local games.

I'm curious about the details of the offer. (funding offered, percentages offered, what the player would have to trust the backer with and vice versa, how the transactions will happen, etc) If the offer is for real, it shouldn't be too much of an issue to post them in the thread.

Maybe if a great player bust out Rounders style and you know they’re good then okay. But I’d still be worried that they treated their bankroll with such disregard :

I just don’t see how backers work. One party seems to always end up taking from the other, that sounds really obvious but I don’t know how to explain it.

I guess there must be a situation were the security verses the commission make it profitable for both. I don’t know, I couldn't have a backer anyway I’d feel too guilty when I lost Smile
