What are these odds?

I am in a tourney.. make past 1st break. Part way through heading to second break. I get moved(no problem). I get set next to the chip leader. 3X my stack. I go busted out against him.. all-in vs all-in. Still no problem.. I had A,Q(suited even) to his A,K(off suit)... Mind you this was 2nd hand dealt to me after I got sat at the table. Folded the 1st hand because that was rubbish.

Now what are the odds of getting placed next to the chip leader(he is on my left) and getting heads up so quickly while he has the better starting pre-flop hand?

I just sat there wondering to myself.. Sheesh that is very very very odd.
Not complaiing that I lost to him what more would have someone done? I admit I made bet. What am I supposed to do? Now would have anybody else played diffrently? Some would while some wouldn't. My personal opinion I will play a top 10 vs a top 10 hand. I'd rather be beat by a top 10 then some rag tag hand.

What is even more interesting though. 3 hands before I moved.. There were 2 hands out of the 3 heads up. I was in the 1st heads up.. A,K(suited) vs QQ's and right after that was JJ's V AA's. Third hand produced nothing. Then I got moved.. so out of 5 hands played I saw 3 hands had 6 top 10 hands. Makes you really wonder how random it really is? But it is acceptable that it can happen.

I don’t know how you could calculate the odds of this, it just seems to have to many variables that would be hard to quantify before you could even start on the maths.

What were the blinds in relation to your stack?

If I’m in a comfortable situation I generally don’t move all-in preflop unless I have a high pocket pair. I’ll raise with AK and AQ but I’m wary of racing with them, I prefer to play it from the flop.
