So I'm wondering, what range of hands will everyone play in nlhe from the SB in an unraised pot? I am pretty strict about what I play, even if the pot is unraised. I will play J10o and up from the sb, mid sized suited connectors (56s) and up, if I get in cheap, I will also play 1 gap suited connectors, (57s) and up.
If the pot is raised I will play most mid size suited connectors and up and will re-raise with any pp 88 and above to isolate. I am not afraid to lay down KJo, J10o, but I will play KQs, AJs, etc, etc, etc.
I was playing on fulltilt this morning and had 59 in the sb. With only 2 limpers in the pot, I called the sb for some stupid reason. Usually this is an automatic fold, and I even muttered to myself as I called, "this is going to get me in trouble"
Anyway, here is the hand history...I felt I was a favorite after the flop, and was not too concerned after the turn. After the river made my hand, but paired the board, I was somewhat worried. I bet the river because I had been in control the whole hand, and also, I wanted them to be at the decision for their money, not the other way around. It was pretty passive poker from the other two, and I didn't even realize what a big hand the guy had.

I'm pretty sure I'm completing the SB way too often (in fact it's probably a hole in my game ) but I just can’t help it, the odds it offers are so good.
Most of the time I end up folding to a bet on the flop but occasionally I hit an unusual two pair and take down a big pot.

Raised or unraised, a lot depends on how many players are in a hand. If I have 27 but there are 5 callers, I want to see a flop (getting 12:1).
1-3 callers, then I want a hand that is decent, or has some potential.
The key is the ability to let something go. If you have J3 and there are 5 callers and the flop is J 7 6, I might lead out but if people hang around or raise me, I will check the turn and get out to a bet with callers.

The only hands I will fold in sb (except in a HU situation, obviously) are
27o,28o,29o,2To,
37o,38o,39o
48o (sometimes)
That's it =/
I play FL, btw.

Unraised, I'll usually call the small blind with any cards that are suited or connected. If I hit, great, if not, it's easy to get out.
I'm a cash game player and referring to cash games only. A tournament strategy would definitely depend on blind levels, number of players in the hand, etc.

I play mainly tournaments so I am very picky about my starting hands. If I am in the sb and it is folded to me then I will usually see the flop with many hands. Suited connectors, small pp or just about any A or face will get me to see the flop. If there are callers in front of me then I will only play good hands. Usually those in the top 10 starting hands. My feeling is to save as many chips as possible till they become worth more (ie blind levels increase).

I'll play any hand HE. At this point it doesn't matter what I have it matters what he thinks I have. Eventually he will get tired of being pushed around and make a move if I have it I call if I don't I fold, slow down and start pushing a few hands later. Watch out for traps though.
