i play in a home game pretty regularly and im not sure about this 1 rule. lets say i go all-in before the flop with ace king. the 2 players in front of me think its a tough decision to make. they show each other they're cards and make theyre decision. is it legal to show another player each other's cards?

If you even think for half a second that this is anywhere remotely near legal, I highly, highly recommend you print this out and study it. There will be a quiz next Friday, worth 60% of your grade. #2 pencils only.

Now, there are no completely "standardized" rules for poker, but this is as close as we've got. I don't know precisely what Robert's Rules say about showing hands, but in my book, showing the hand to somebody who is still involved in the current deal results in your hand immediately being declared dead, and being turned face up. What they're doing is commonly known as "cheating."

This is the very definition of collusion. Not only would I not play in a game where this is allowed, I'd be demanding both their hands were dead the second they did it.

Dead hands...RUDE behaviour and against all rules of poker I've ever used. Next time tell them before the play starts that this kind of crap has to go.

Imagine this..................

Welcome to the final table of the 2006 WSOP Main Event, we're down to the final 3 players battling it out for the $10 million 1st prize, surprisingly our 3 finalists are all newcommers who happen to use the same online poker forum! truplaya_177 is all in! Webby is seriously considering a call here! He turns to Geno and would you believe it! he is showing him his hole cards! Geno shakes his head and flashes Webby his hole cards, Webby quickly folds his QQ and Geno calls and flips over AA! Amazing scenes here as truplaya_177 is eliminated in 3rd. Webby and Geno evenly chop the remaining prizemoney and play it out for the bracelet.

It just aint gonna happen is it?

Just depends on whos house your at, and don't play if you don't like their rules.
