Tournament vs cash game

I have been winning a lot of single table tournaments however loosing at the cash tables. What strategies should I change from tournaments to cash games? I do realize I need to loosen up a bit in a cash game. What other suggestions do you have for me.

Play where you make money. If you're a winner at the single table tourneys, just play those and worry about cash games later.

Just my $.02

I think trying to sum up the different strategies for cashgames vs. tournaments is beyond what I can do in a simple post. Smile

But basically in cashgames I guess one could say that you are constantly looking for edges to push that are slightly in your favour. Like say in a cashgame when your QQ races versus AK for your entire stack you 'don't mind', because even if you win or lose...with QQ you have that little % extra edge that will make this profitable in the long run. In a tournament you would for the most part rather avoid this race for your stack if you have a good stack, because it is nearly 50/50 for you to bust out or double up, and survival is vital.

Also in tournaments various very aggressive strategies can work that may be inapprioate for most cash games, mostly due to the blind structures in tournaments...in a cashgame people can just wait for that hyper-aggressive player to slip up...in a tournament they may be hard-pressed for time to do so.
