Making the most out of Quads...twice

Posted Tue Nov 08, 2005 2:17 am GMT by Jauron
Just a total look at this thread, although I did manage both times to get as much money as possible which for some dumb luck reason I seem to do most of the time when I get them.

The first one was an easy call preflop with another caller and then I hit the flop hard, knowing that Ace is gonna get me paid, it was hard to smooth call the bet, but it worked out great. I have a hard time smooth calling sets for some reason. Had I known another 6 was coming I probably would have slowed down, but at the point I moved in I felt they both had a solid hand and had too much invested to let it go.

Can you imagine he limped with Aces, got raised preflop and smooth called? Very sneaky and it's not a bad play heads up I guess. I have the deck crippled on the flop and hate I have to check it hoping he's got something he likes, but I get action each check and the river got nuts. I almost messed up and called on the river, it was late. Still a nice hand to end the game on.
