Call and lead the turn on anything but a Q or 7.

It's a limit game, so one small bet.

It's 3-handed, and knowing Snoo, this guy is probably on supermegadiapertilt, so you could put him on any pair, two overs, or a straight draw.

3-handed, button folded. What's left?

I don't think he's tilting, but he's a strong player/regular, so his range is somewhere in that realm anyway. Not only are there a lot of 'legit' hands that will raise here that I have beat, but there's a probability signifcantly >0 that he would do this with a lot of hands that bear no relation to the flop.
I was hoping this hand would generate more discussion, as I think these blind battles are one of the most fascinating facets of the game, and one of the most important as well, when playing shorthanded. This is a shining example of why being out of position could suck a golf-ball through a garden hose.
The important question, I think, is not necessarily how much credit to give him, but how to respond to the range he has.
What happened in the real hand:
BB raises, Hero 3-bets, BB calls
Turn: Itsy Bitsy card with some suit attached
Hero bets, BB raises
Most people aren't cool enough to do this on a draw, with a worse 8, or with a pair <99. Hero folds.
Now, we all argue about whether my line is best, Sean's is best, or some other line is best. Go.

Blindstealing is FL on steroids.
You got a pair of 8s, are drawing slim against a ten, if he has an 8 you are likely to have the best kicker. If he has something that beats you that hasn't hit the board, I think most of those raise you preflop...even if he is tricky...
I think villain could be getting nasty with a fairly wide range here...figuring that the board missed you and I don't think he necessarily had you beat...the pot is pretty bloated now I'd go clench my teeth and go for the call-down. I wouldn't expect to win, but I think my % chance is bigger than two big bets/total pot.

I do the same on the turn, but I think the stop-and-go has the same effect and saves you a small bet on the flop.

I'll also add that I think that this is a 3-handed game gives much us higher equity, since much more marginal hands will be played and especially so when it is plausible villain could be putting hero on a blindsteal.
