How much can Pokertracker do? |

Is it only good for analyzing play, or can it actually point out holes in your game?
I think I'm not being agressive enough post-flop, and am not chasing hands that I have the odds for. I'm just curious as to if it can significantly help your game or if it's more for just looking at stats.
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I don't know. Has it worked for you?
I doubt there would be stats telling me if I laid down a draw with correct pot odds, but would I be able to see the times I laid down the best hand? Got bluffed off?

On second though I don't know why I thought they'd be able to tell you if you were bluffed off considering there's no way to see the downcards unless they show...

60,000 hands later its showing me where my weakness are

i think that it would be much more helpful in ring games as opposed to tournaments, as tournaments get all messed up by bubbles and getting desperate and such
i personally havent used it for ring games tho, but I'd imagine it would be fairly helpful

Well PokerTracker does that too, but you can do it on Stars just by reading HH. As for previous concerns about PT, I think it's well worth the investment. It has helped me realize a few leaks in my game, often gives some usefull inside info about your opponents, and is the #1 tool in my opinion for tracking your own stats.
It is confusing and complicated at the beginning but you quickly get used to it. 8)

Have you tried Poker Office 2? Or do you think Poker tracker is the best?
I've tried both softwares, well actually I have both, but I only use Poker Office 2. Poker Office 2 doesn't really lack anything that Poker Tracker has, especially after the latest updates. Office also has a built in tracker and built in graphs.
Edit. It has a way better looking interface and is more user friendly than poker tracker

How much does a 55 dollar program have to help your game?
It stores your session start and end times, money lost, money won, bb/hour or 100 hands, it lets you keep a book of opponents that's easier to organize then player notes on a poker site...
It lets you see how often you play each starting hand and how you play it, and if you win or lose, although you'll need far more hands then the demo lets you import for these to settle out statistically.
It's pretty handy overall. If it helps you win one decent pot it pays for itself, right?
I haven't used other brands, though - I don't know if PT is the best. It presents a lot of data densely, but it is a pretty...ah...functional interface.

All this information is interesting. I have asked PP about Poker Tracker and Poker Office and they responded (after about a week!) that they weren't allowed to be used at their site. Then I asked Poker Stars and they said it was ok. So there is a definite difference in the two sites. PP said any software that tracks opponents in games you didn't play in would be illegal. Using a centralized database is illegal. Just wondering if anyone has been banned from using either of these products?

This just shows the greatness of the Party support. Poker Office even has a promotion going with partypoker - sign up to party and get Poker Office 2 for free. And no, no one has been banned for using Poker Office at party. Mostly becuase it's allowed.

what does Poker Office do? Does it track players that aren't in your games or use a centralized database?

I also just went to the Poker Office site, no where do they say they are affiliated or have any promotions going with Party. Also, Party doesn't support any programs that run over the top of their software and offer real time assistance, if you read their use agreement.
