I watched all of the main event for this year's WSOP and think that I saw all of it. The animosity between Mike Matesau and Sheekahn (pardon my spelling) was really interesting and left me wondering who to root for.
A couple of times when they were showing little snippets of video coming back from breaks they showed these two shoving each other. But I don't remember seeing this during the actual broadcast. Anybody else see it in the broadcast?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I'm 99% sure it was something for the camera to promote it.

Mike" The Mouth" deserves what he gets. There used to be a time, back when Puggy Pearson was alive, when that kind of behaviour was accepted at a table. Those days seem to be gone. Poker has started to become known as a gentlemens game. That is why they added rules to the WSOP about foul language and BS like that. I say the poker table is no place for that type of garbage. Save it for the backroom or better yet the back alleys.

Sweet lets change the rules to adapt to pussies who cant stand the way cards were ment to be. Heres the thing you dont like it dont play but dont change the rules. Its what makes the game great. I understand that saying f*ck on TV isnt the greatest thing and theres a wide varitiey of people watching. But they could just bleep it out. I think anything at the table should be legal as long as its not taken way way way to far.....

What did Matesow say to the Shiek after he busted him out. I have it on my DVR and played it a dozen times but can't figure out what he said. (Matesow says something as he pulls Shiek in for a hug)

Poker has always been a gentleman's game - you've just got the wrong notion of a "gentleman." Ulysses Grant, Mark Twain, and Johnny Moss were "gentlemen" and I don't think they would have suffered to endure an excess of oral dribble from a guy like "Mike the Mouth"
I think some of the people that play poker actually need a little rough edge to keep them in line - Mike's one of them and honestly so are you sometimes. Rules that allow mouthbreathers like Mike to be obnoxious to their betters don't really make it more of a "polite game"
Sometimes you are playing with a guy like mike, you want to just say, "Thank the pit boss on your way out."
"For what?"
"For being there."
Although, in defense of mike, I've heard people say that like Hellmuth he's not so bad, he's just kind of getting cast in a part.

Shiek: "Anyone have a fan in here?"
Mouth: "Don't worry, you won't be here much longer."
Come on guys. You gotta give credit where it's due.
