AQs on the button

Both UTG and MP in this hand are _very_ tight players (VPIP around 15-16 over 300 hands at micro-limit stakes), also both are usually very passive preflop. FL.

Hero is on the button with AClubQClub

UTG+1 Raises
MP1 3-bets

Folds to me.

Hero....?

If you have faith in your reads and the players' playing style, I think this is an easy fold...wait, I just seen this is FL. I don't play FL, but this might be worth 3 betting??? But then again, I know nothing.

If you're going to play it, cap it.

Take control of the hand by getting the last bet in and use your position.

reraise, u'll have more information that way...if he caps it u're probably beat at that point and can play the flop more accurately

yeah. 3bet or fold. call a cap, see a flop.

I think I would just call here. The information could be helpful as ScanX mentioned but may not be needed. I for sure wouldn't lay this hand down. AQs is a decent hand. That board could flop all Club and you would kick your own a$$ if you didn't see the flop. You mentioned it was micro-limits. I play the micros exclusively and I see people raise 2-3xBB with 2 face cards. A 4-5xBB usually indicates AX and anything higher would most likely be a large PP. I did play one guy last night who played a 99 and pushed pre-flop with it. He pushed with a 6xBB bet. I wouldn't have called him but I had a feeling and I was setting on pocket Ks. I figured worse thing that can happen is I lose a $0.50 to AA or he would make a set.

I'm a little confused by this. Does it mean UTG+1 raise, MP1 3-bets or UTG+1 calls, MP1 raises?

If it's 3 coming at you vs sane players it's the easiest fold ever. If it's raised by someone with <4%PFR, who clearly isn't stealing or raising thin to isolate a fish it's a fold. You'll see AA, KK, QQ and AK a lot vs passive players. 3-betting or capping to "find out where you're at" is a bad idea vs passive players because they usually won't tell you "where you're at" unless they have aces. I vote fold.

Urk, yeah, sorry. The way I wrote it is easy to misunderstand. Edited now.

Calling might have some merit if you have a very loose blind hand that might stay for 3 bets and not 4.

I'd either cap or fold, and based on your description of the players, I lean heavily toward folding. There are very few flops that could come where I would be happy with my hand.

Yeah, what happened here. Well, the dullest thing in the world. I was paying attention to other tables, noticed the hand, the raises, checked their stats (had no read really) and clicked fold. It all went by very quickly, just posting to see what your opinions were.

Oh, and their hands.

UTG+1 had JJ
MP+1 had AKo

if I have no reason to believe the 3-bettor is a)a monkey, or b)3-betting light for some reason, I likely fold this, unless I'm at a really bad table where I can expect twelve of us calling 3-cold to see the flop.

Tight players 3-betting generally means that AQ is pretty well crushed.

well I didnt understand it that way until he edited (I understood limp then raise)

so ye fold is good if it's 3-bet before u
