Has anybody read any of Phil Gordon's books? The Real Deal and The Little Green Book are the titles I think. I was going to maybe ask for one for christmas, but wanted to get a few opinions from the crowd.

I haven't read either of them, but on Full Contact's forum, here were a couple reviews of the Green Book:
"He mentions betting strategy / amounts post-flop more than some books which tend to place more emphasis on pre-flop starting hand requirements but are then light on post flop play."
"I have to say I liked the book. It's certainly not the best first book to learn no limit hold 'em. What it does well, though, is boils down concepts that people rarely discuss in print. I like how it has an actual discussion of blind stealing in tournaments instead of just saying "sometimes you have to raise with less than great holdings....that is all."

The silence from the forum members was deafening, so I didn't order any Phil Gordon books. I did order a few others though.
Super System 2
Theory of Poker
Harrington on hold em I
Harrington on hold em II
Seven card stud for advanced players
These should last me a month or so.

I thought the Little Green Book was pretty decent. Very short and easy read. Currently reading Theory of Poker, which I noticed you bought. I'm enjoying it.

I read Gordon's little green book. It was a decent read. Could have been better, could have been worse. It's also a neat little book to keep next to you when you're playing as a reference guide. One part I didn't like was his section on position. I thought that while he described the importance of position well, It really broke down into basic knowledge after all the smoke and mirrors.
One thing you should note is that Phil makes it clear from the beginning that he isn't saying "This is how you should play", he is saying "This is how I would play". You have to take that into consideration when reading it, and if you aren't a fan of his play style, it won't help you much at all
HOH is a must for tournament players in my opinion. and SS2 is good. Caro's book is also great for live play
