Has anyone else noticed when someone makes a pair on the board in stud, and they check it? Check out this hand and tell me if this is a common occurence in stud. Basically like in HE where you give the free card to let an opponent catch up with your monster. Not that 3 of a kind 4's is a real monster in stud, but still...as soon as he raised me on 6th I knew he had the 3rd 4, but I just couldn't let it go.

its a pretty good play by him actually, especially since the case 4 is out ... checking here is actually quite common, and most of the time they won't have trips, i think once they start to get aggressive with it, you may just have to bite the bullet and fold ... you're right to fold here ONCE he puts that raise in more often that you are wrong to fold here
a cardinal rule of stud is 'be wary of the man who pairs his door card'
