Post a 50NL hand? Don't mind if I do

BEFORE YOU EVEN SAY IT ... yes the preflop call is weak. Given that I made a less than perfect preflop call, how do you think I played the hand out? (Villain and I had about equal stack sizes of $40)

TheSalche: Qh Jd

Pre-flop:

Villain raises to $1. 1 fold . TheSalche
calls. table folds

Flop (board: 9h 4c Qs):

Villain bets $2.75. TheSalche calls.

Turn (board: 9h 4c Qs Jc):

Villain bets $8.25. TheSalche raises to $22.
Villain calls.

River (board: 9h 4c Qs Jc Td):

Villain checks. TheSalche checks.

Played fine.

The T on the river is a good scare. He could very well be holding KQ and sucked you out on the river.

Only possible hands I could see him holding are a set, AQ or KQ, only one of which you beat.

I agree that the check on the river was the best move. Considering the action it could well have been a trap although if I had KQ I would have probably gone for a small milking bet instead.

The flop and turn bets made me think me might have an over pair. But that would put him on AA or KK and even though I don’t know the blinds the pre-flop raise looks too small for that.

Since you posted it, it’s probably KQ. Or someone crazy hanging in with AK Smile

Villain's position and a basic image would help greatly. Those things matter alot in NL.

If villain is a donk we'll probably see AQ&AA here some of the time. No use in betting I agree, you don't beat many legitimate hands anymore. AK could very well be in play, overplaying AK is pretty common at 50NL...and it COULD be AK Club Smile

I bet you either lucked out and crushed AA or KK got its sweet revenge on the river.
