im at my house playing a 7 man tourney $20 buy in. in a bout 15 hands im up to 50-55 dollars and the chip leader. I look down at pocket 8's in late postition and make it 3.00 to call .25-.50 blinds. short stack in sb calls and the 3rd man calls. the 2nd guy who called had about 20 nucks in chips. flop A Spade , 8 Heart ,9 Spade , goes check check i bet 6.00 into the pot, short stack goes all in and other guy calls. Next card 7 Spade i am immedidatly pissed cause i know its going to get bad he bets 5 and i call hoping for a boat. Next is a blank he goes all in im pretty much commited to call and he flips over K Spade 4 Spade and go what the F*** u called a preflop rasie w/ k4 and he says i thought u were bluffing i laugh and say on the flop he goes i though u were bluffing. that hand was so f***ed up. (shrug) If you continue playing this will happen hundreds of times, get used to it.

On the flop, you're 57% to win against the worst case of a flush draw and an open straight draw, so really only a little better than a coin flip, I want to take that pot right there if possible. You bet 2/3 of the pot, which technically makes it a bad call for a flush draw (how much was the small stack's all-in?) but it can be hard to get a nut flush draw to fold especially against unsophisticated players; you really need to drive home the point that you're going to bust or cripple them if their draw doesn't hit. I like a pot-size to all-in bet there, depending on what I think my chances are of getting folds and what it will take to do that.

Good luck. :D

Him calling on the preflop raise was bad
You calling on the turn was still right (still favorable odds to hit the fullhouse)
But calling on the river was horrible

Don't offset bad play with even worse play
(I have done it myself many times)
