yeah, firstly when you lose to a hand like that on the river dont say "nh" say "nice ******* hand you ******* raise calling then hitting your river ******* fish ******* ****"
Secondly i dont think i would be drawing to a gutshot when i only have 3 outs of hitting it. 1 rule i find is that if you draw to an unlikely hit of a marginal hand and hit it, you're likely to get f*cked.
Apart from that there's not much else you could have done, you hit your hand, you wer raising when you had best hand, you just got unlucky on the river

I think Jernej would agree that on the .25/.50 tables on stars, the above occurence is very common. I've seen guys call a raise on 3rd with 273 rags and draw out to hit their straight on the river. I've been bouncing back and forth between the .25/.50 and the .50/1 tables lately. I think I'm going to go ahead and make the move up for good.

i know i was walking a very thin layer of ice,
i though one hand i can draw that one gave me the gutshot so i decided
to take 2nd card as i usually do with draws, but then
on 5th i dont think i would have stayed in if someone would bet tbh, and i got the lucky 7 then
altho i can't really balme him for staying in with his set, i'm not folding a set on these limits either

Points 2 and 3 are serious tho.
Would have been a good draw if you were playing hi/lo tho jernej
Zinn i would definately recommend moving up if possible, as it's limit you can give it a try for a reasonably small risk, and if it doesn't work out, you can always jump back down for a while.

In Stud, one bad decision usually leads to another. Hence, the most important decision is the one you make on thrid street. If you call with cards like this routinely, you will get yourself into trouble. Here, you have too many dead cards to be comfortable, and you start with a gap, AND any card you might pair probably won't be good enough to be competetive. yes, you got sucked out on, but you played a terrible hand. I'd advise playing a little tighter in the future.
My logic for three-straights:
1. Don't play low three-straights in general, but especially not those with no flush possibilities or those that have gaps in them.
2. Try to have at least one or two live overcards. Remember that J-10-9 is significantly more powerful than 7-6-5, especially when your opponents have low door cards.
I will usually only play three to a straight if I have some live overs, I have a good two-straight-flush, and my outs on either side of the straight are live.

thanks i'mm adjust in that manner, i usually play low 2 straight cards, altho i will normally avoid gutshoots, and even straight where i have dead cards,
to think of it, u are right this hand shouldnt have been played from the start

straight draws are one of the harder hands to play in stud as opposed to something like a flush draw, heres a few reasons one
1. A live 4 straight on 4th street is about 40% to complete, while a live 4 flush is about 45% to complete.
2. A straight is a weaker hand, and vulnerable to a flush draw, as well as two pair drawing for a full house, etc.
3. Many more dead cards to worry about when drawing for straights. I.E. You have QJ10, you have to worry about how many aces, kings, nines and eights are dead. Say you hit a nine on 4th street, but three eights are dead. You practically have a gutshot in this example
4. Most straight draws can't win by hitting two pair vs. flush draws. Ex: best straight draw hand is QJ10, if you hit two pair you're still vulernable to aces up or kings up. But if you play ace high or king high flush draws, you'll win more hands because you'll get that big pair every now and then, and that may be good enough to win the hand.
Take a good look at 7CS4AP, they point out how careful you have to be with straight draws.
