Umgoblue: or WHATMEBLUFF could have re-raised again after you to isolate ~TropicanA~:, your post flop position would have been bad and if you put what they had in to an odds calculator you were probably a preflop dog.

Why raise UTG with a drawing hand? I like QJ suited, but I think limp or fold UTG is the best play here. If I limp, I am expecting to get raised, and I just hope there is enough action to justify a call.

BTW-the limp UTG will often be taken rather seriously and people are reluctant to attack it. Unless you are dealing with inexperienced idiots.

Well I can testify that idiots don’t appreciate the strength required for EP limps and raises (or calls come to think of it). Heres an example from the very first hand of a £5-£1 SnG I played on Sunday.

Me UTG AHeartKHeart

Blinds 7 and 15
Me UTG I raise to 60
Dumb UTG+1 calls
Dumber UTG+2 calls
Folds around to me.

Flop ASpade KClub 4Heart

Me - check. (I’m not one for traps but was sure they’d bet)
Dumb - Bet 210
Dumber - Call
Me - Raise to 600
Dumb - Fold
Dumber - Call

Turn 7Heart

Me – Bet all-in
Dumber - Call

Dumber turns over KSpade9Diamond

I dont know why you didnt call you had more It was just a little more to call with a few people in. I would have made that call. Even more so cause you were the intital raiser.

The reason I didn't call was basically because of the Sandwich concept. I raised just trying to show major strength hoping to isolate it to 1 caller. I was then reraised two players later and then the all in happened. I was fearing that WHATMEBLUFF was going to go over the top and basically make me play for all my chips. So I gave the hand up.

I didn't intend for this thread to be a hand analysis, I was just simply giving a "Tale Of Hold'Em: Look at this hand!". There were many reasons why I raised under the gun.
1) Since it was a freeroll, people were calling with mediocre-at-best hands, so there was a chance that if I did get called, I wouldnt have been THAT much of a DOG and possibly even a favorite.
2) I figured that I wanted to see a flop, and honestly I felt it was the best and cheapest way to see it. I figured that if I had limped, someone would have raised more than I did. So I figured people would notice my UTG raise as decent strength and just call or fold.

IT WAS A FREEROLL AND YOU DIDNT CALL?????????????????????????

Dont these typically just play 1-2% of people? Dont you need to gamble to win these? Hell, I might go all in here w/ QJ suited and pray for 2-3 callers.
