Playing a $5 PL SNG on Stars and get 6S AH KH KD. 4 people in the pot for $100 each. Flop comes JS QS 10C. Check around to me and I bet pot, thinking I've locked the straight and knock out the flush draws but hoping someone caught high trips to stay in. Everybody folded. Did I make the right play?

pretty much. You have the nuts currently, but they're incredibly vulnerable (especially in omaha). Chances are the people playing for the low will fold, and you'll be up against flushes/sets in most situations - This is a great time to be adding value.
Also, this is pot limit, so you may as well jam the pot so you can raise the turn a nice healthy amount if a low card drops, etc.

Whenever I play omaha, I have to keep reminding myself that my nuts are never safe.

Pot Limit Hi/Lo is a bad game. But yes, that's probably the best move... it would certainly be correct in purely Omaha high.

Bad how? I find it extremely fun, but I have a hard time getting my friends to play it!

It's bad because split games do not lend themselves well to a Pot-limit or No-limit format--the game becomes imbalanced in favor of high hands, and low hands lose a good chunk of their value if they don't make a low on the flop--at that point, you might as well just play high.

I see what you're saying. Assuming eights-or-better (the default for hi/lo omaha), many hands won't even have a low. Still, I find the game very fun, so it's not bad for everyone. :D

pl o8 is just fine, thank you very much.
And playing online, betting purely for the low can still make you a steady income =P

big Omaha8 fan here... great game.
i think you played the hand okay. the hand isn't the greatest preflop... but since you went ahead and paid to see a flop, you post flop move was the correct one in my opinion.

Started playing some real cheap Omaha and was curious about the lows in high low. Is it simply no pairs and low cards that don't make a straight/flush? Is 2,3,4,5,7 r the best low hand?

In Omaha H/L, straights and flushes don't count when going for the low and Aces are high for the poker hand, but low for the low hand.
The NUTS for a low hand A,2,3,4,5 regardless of suit.

also, in case you were currious, the BEST preflop hand you can have is AA23 double suited (meaning one of each of your aces is suit-matched to one of your two prime cards, the 2 or 3 in this case).
