Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. well think about it. if you have a 33% chance of winning so that means 33/99 time you will win. so then if you reduce the fraction that comes out to be 1/3. so 1 out of 3 time you win. so that means two of three times you lose. so you're chance of winning are 2(losses) to 1(win).
another example you have a chance to win 90% of the time so that means you are 9(wins) to 1(losses) to win.

A quick rule is each out you have is worth about 2% on the flop and a little more then two percent after the flop . . . if only need one card, but have two cards to draw it, add the outs twice. IE 8 outs, 16%, two cards to draw them, 32%.
This method not exact but is good for calculations for uncommon outs . . .

Odds to percent = if odds are 4:1 to convert to probability(%) = 1/(4 + 1) = 1/5 = .20 = 20%
Probability to Odds = if probablity is 35% to convert to odds =
(100 - 35):35 or 65:35 divide both sides by 35 and you get 1.86:1 or approx 2:1
