I've seen a lot of posts here from people saying that such-and-such online poker room must be rigged because of all the bad beats, etc. That is obviously just simple people misunderstanding how the cards fall when playing poker.
But there are actual ways that people cheat in online poker rooms, and I'm not talking about colluding with a buddy or two.
There are lots of articles lately about poker bots. These programs play poker for you and obviously they claim to win you money. Check out http://www.nourls.net/ .
And just today while playing at Party Poker someone (a bot, thankfully not playing at the table, but just spectating) typed in a message saying to go to http://www.nourls.com/ to get software which scans your opponents cards.
This kind of thing scares me a little. I doubt there is any way the poker rooms can stop this sort of thing once it becomes wide spread.
I just wanted to hear other peoples' opinions and experiences. I'm hoping someone can tell me that there is nothing to worry about. I've been winning consistantly as of late at micro stakes tables, but I'm concerned that there will come a day when the majority of players in the online card rooms will be bots that would be virtually unbeatable.
