Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

for me personally i like to read books that include theory and stuff so thats why i recommend either the theory of poker or hold em poker for advanced players both by david skalansky. excellent books.

Texas Hold'em for Advanced Players by Skalansky and Malmuth is great if you're going to be playing limit games.
Caro's book of tells is ok, but really not that special. I can sum it up for you in a few words and save you $30. "Weak when strong, strong when weak"
I like TJ Cloutier's Pot Limit and No Limit Championship book for tourney play.

I like the Sklansky book myself... maybe you should try his first book "Texas Hold 'Em Poker"... the advanced one is pretty thick and hard to swallow everything. I'm actually going back to read that one.
Sklansky's books are definitely for the middle limit player... 10/20, maybe even 8/16.
The only other low limit book I read was MoreHold 'Em Excellence by Lou Krieger. That should be a good starter book for you too.

The more you can read the better. I spend more time studying the game than playing it--sort of like chess.
My major in college was mathematics and the only subject I have more books on than math is poker. You DON'T want to own a poker book....man, you need to own (and read, re-read, and read again) a poker library.
Well to be honest I guess I do have more sci-fi and spy novels than math books too. Sounds like (as I write this) I have some serious escapism issues.
