ring game hand

Posted Mon Dec 12, 2005 12:17 am GMT by zinn0
I try and stay away from ring games. Not really sure why, but I just feel more comfortable playing SnG's. Anyway, I've been messing around with them lately, trying to get a good feel for them. Nothing major, just .25/.50.

Anyway, had this hand come up earlier tonight. I literally just sat down and this was the second hand I was dealt, so it goes without saying I have no reads at all. That said, I have a very hard time putting this guy on Spade 's here. Maybe 1, but 2??

Call without even thinking about it.

Don't be surprised when Villain has black KK or AA.

I didn't think about it--I called. Like I said, I couldn't give him credit for spades. The reraise just stunk of AA, or KK.

The turn brought a blank, the river brought the A Spade and I knew I was beat. Villain held A Diamond A Club for rivered trips. Would I be wrong assuming that making this call everytime is +EV?

Instant call.

If he flopped the flush you have outs, if he didn't you're ahead. And you're ahead more often than he flops the flush...pushing the flush is a funky play to begin with too, but it happens.

This is the panic push btw. it is a very common move for unimaginative players to do with a high PP if the flop scares them shitless. Well, it removes implied odds for drawers atleast.

Yes. I'd estimate that it will be a bad call 1-2% of the time.

If you have super powers that allow you to seperate that 1-2% from the other 98%+ PM me.

Call evertyime, even against a made flush you have 7 outs on the flop...and 3 more if the turn doesn't already bring you a boat.
