uber O8 hand

Posted Mon Dec 12, 2005 3:59 pm GMT by Jernej Zorec
this hand was great result wise, but still looking for comments,
a limp pf is pretty much standard for me with this one,
and with nut low on flop i had no intention of going out,
maybe i played a bit too slow ?

I don't have a whole lot to say, other than you really need to jam that flop.

and jam the turn. heck, just jam the whole way.

Well...you got all-in with the nut low AND the nut high getting called all the way. I'd say that's about as good as you can get. Nice hand.

I agree. There needs to be a lot more raising going on after the flop. You have a MONSTER draw on the flop as well as the nut low, so you're really raising for value when you jam the pot. Plus, with a pot of that size, even if you end up getting quartered you'll still make a profit. You can forego a raise on the flop if you think you can make more on the turn (that is, others seem unwilling to engage), but I think you definitely needed to get more money in that pot sooner in the hand.

The limping in was fine though, as your hand was somewhat marginal as far as O8 hands go.

You think A346 is marginal? I dunno. low limit online I jam pretty heavy with it =/

It would be a lot stronger if the ace were suited. I say "somewhat" marginal because it is a little lacking on the high side, but overall it's a fine hand in a loose O8 game, and I would call with it just as Jernej did. If the ace were suited, I might raise because my pot equity would be slightly better than normal. The same goes if the 3 or 4 were a deuce instead (fortunately that was not the case here Wink).
