I thought Party Poker and Pokerstars was cool, but I've made $2,000 in one week playing $1-2 no-limit tables at nobonus.com
It's a smaller site with not as many people as the big sites, but the players are rediculously terrible, especially the players from Turkey! Find a player from Turkey and win no matter what. They literally play to the river with crap cards, hoping to catch.
I think many of the Europeans who play here feel they have a money advantage because of the exchange rate with the U.S. They tend to be extremely loose.
Like I said, it's a smaller site and I want to bring more people in. It averages about 5,000 players at any given time. You can always find full tables though.
Watch out for the players from Greece and Norway, they are the better players at the site.
Hope to see you there.

Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. Isn't that the same as playing 1/2 rather than 2/4?

Yes. Strangly enough this actually puts Europeans at a disadvantage. They're forced to play tougher games to play for the same money as Americans.

Please enlighten me.
Here was my line of thinking: it would be tougher to support yourself via online poker in Europe than it would in America.

I think I would rather play against people that are a challenge as to improve my game. Inept foreigners aren't my targets of choice.

Why did you feel it would be tougher to support yourself as a European vs an America?
Money is money, it doesnt matter if you start a tournament with 2000 in chips or 1000 in chips. What matters is what the blinds are relative to your stack. Stakes dont matter, currencies dont matter. It is all a matter of how much do you need to make to support yourself.
You could argue that it is easier to be a pro player in Thailand vs NYC, but that is because you can live on $20 a day in Thailand, where you need $300-500/day in NYC. The competition it takes to make $20 each day is easier than what it takes to earn $300-500 a day.
Advice for all young people, live in a high pay, high expense place and save save save. Move to or retire to somewhere where the cost of living is much cheaper. You can earn $75k in NYC and save 10% or $7500 a year in your retirement plan. Then at age 40-50, take your $1 million and buy a house 3000 square foot house in North Dakota for $50,000 and live comfortably on the interest.

That was my case. The $1 you earn in America will buy more than the same $1 in Europe even though the $1 is just as easy to earn in America while playing online poker.

Is Turkish Poker anything like Turkish taffy?

The cost of living in the US isnt necessarily cheaper then Europe. Govt healthcare? Income tax free gambling?

I don't believe that you made 2K in one week...or ever for that matter. If you were making that kind of money you would spend all your time at the tables instead of spamming forums to get referrals. (which is all your site contains) Do you actually think you are going to cleverly get around the no-spam rules by posting a text only site name instead of a clickable link? If you think so i have some sad news for you......it ain't happening.
