Guys,
MTT on Empire.
Small, only 50 players.
15 Players left on 2 tables. I am in 3rd place in chips, at about 8000.
There is only 1 player at my table who has more than me, and between the top 3, we probably have 1/2 the total chips.
I am thinking that it would take a court order or a gun to my head to go all in against the other big stack, but that agression is the order of the day against the small stacks.
I'm in the big blind and get 8 8
The big stack (MP) raises double the blind and all fold to me. I call, thinking that a miricle would have to happen for me to keep going in this hand.
Flop is 2 6 8
A miracle--no matter what he has, I am a huge favorite.
I am guessing that he is also thinking that he is not going toe to toe with me with anything less than a monster.
He bets 2000!
I go all in.
He calls.
He shows 9 9
Well, I really wish they would have given me a second to be happy before showing the next cards:
Turn is a 9 river is the 6
Busted out in 15th after flopping top set!!

Wow, in that pot that was a horrible call from him. You had sooo many hands that could be beating him. And he should assume the same thing that your going to have the goods if all the other players are small stacks. Oh well, sometimes 8% shot is good enough.

There are also so many hands that he could beat.... Calling with an overpair is not that bad.
