Has anyone ever won one of those bad beat jackpot promotions? I've been playing at PokerTime. Their bb jackpot is almost $90,000. I play at the tables that qualify, but I was just wondering if anyone knows anyone who has won. Thanks.

I won a live one on 1/1/2005, 25% of $44,000. The live one was Aces full 10s or better and losing.
I play bad beat tables at Party Poker. I dont do it for the jackpot, I do it because I feel the players are much worse. They are people looking for a big payday instead of tight players looking to grind out a profit.
Party's bad beat is $.50/hand extra rake and quad 8s or better losing. I ran the numbers once and based on my assumptions, I came up with $600,000 jackpot before the extra rake makes sense.
Also, read the fine print. Party's jackpot has the house take (dont quote me here, this is from memory) 10%, then 60-65% actually goes to the jackpot winners. The remainer is set aside for the next jackpot.
So, IMO, dont play them expecting to win. At my live game w/ an easier theshold, they say 40 hours/week you will get a piece of a jackpot each year.

Quad 8s or higher seems pretty harsh. I saw quad 9s cracked by a SF live about 6 weeks ago, sucks to be that guy where there is no bad beat jackpot
