High Card Question

Posted Thu Dec 29, 2005 4:55 am GMT by coloneldom
I have a question regarding who wins involving a high card
PLayer 1: 4 5
Player 2 : 6 7 (forgetting suits)

The Community Cards are A K J 8 9

In this case the best hand is in the community cards and not using either players 2 cards, even though player 2 has the higher card in his hand. Should player 2 win or is it a split pot?
