Bad Beat Jackpot - Table Share!!!!

Posted Sun Jan 01, 2006 5:12 pm GMT by JonnyBoy
What a way to start out the year!! Just got back from Canterbury Card room here in Minnesota, Was playing 4/8 limit today and we cracked the Bad Beat Jackpot for $104,000!!! Laughing I take home table share for $4,350. Shocked Classic hand. Seat 9 player on the BB with pocket jacks. Seat 2 player with pocket Aces. Flop 10-A-J. Turned a J and river was a 6. Four Jacks over Aces Full. Ding, Ding, Ding!!!

The player in the one seat had just got up for a smoke and was going to sit out a round. She did not get dealt in the hand so nothing for her. So the table share split was chopped 6 ways instead of 7. We all knew she was key in getting the jackpot. We all kicked in some black chips, I believe she made $1,000.

Dave B, lunch on me next week!! Wish you were there buddy.

That was nice of you, I'd have thrown her a drinks chip and told her to buy one on me Laughing

lol i agree with geno. theres a proven fact. SMOKING KILLS Laughing only in this way... she lost money.. anyways thats great way to start off.

I have played with her several times. She is a “Regular”. I respect her play. Very tight player, she has a lot of time to spend at the table and does. Any one I didn’t recognize as a regular would have got the “Hey, I’ll buy ya a drink” Actually, all but one player at this table I have played or recognize as a regular who are out there a lot. We all agreed to give her a cut. Dealer got a very nice tip over $5,000! Everyone happy, and happy is good! Fact is, if she was in that hand……….. Rolling Eyes

There was a $104,000 jackpot and the requirement was only Aces full of Jacks or better beaten??? That's awesome!!!

I'm happy for ya dude. :D

That is really weird Jon, exactly one year to the day when I hit my 11k out there. I logged about 14 hours out there over the weekend, but nothing to show for my effort. Lots of 15/30 and 30/60 players playing 8/16, since that is the highest game jackpot eligible.

That will be a really good way to start the year. Now you can freeroll me in the $400 NL this coming weekend out there!

It's always Aces full of Jacks or better to crack it. The card room bumps the jackpot to $100,000 on Sundays Noon to midnight during the football season and I have been out a lot of Sundays! But this day the regular progresive pot went over $100,000. Just f-ing lucky!

well boys. if no limit was offered in minnisota would you go there or stick with limit?

Posted Mon Jan 02, 2006 1:44 am GMT by Dave B
where is minnisota? near minnesota?

We are fairly close to Turtle Lake WI that has NL. I have never played too much NL cash games, so I dont know.

I think NL live would bore me to death. One hand every hour or so of any importance to be involved in. The 8/16 game at Canterbury has pots that average about $125-200 depending on the players with $600 pots not unusual (i lost one w/ the wheel when I was counterfeited on the river and 65 won)

You haven't made a decent post on these forums yet, so let us haze you.

I wasn't speaking to you. I told Dat that because you'd just make a stupid
reply anyway to add to your post count.

Posted Mon Jan 02, 2006 2:59 pm GMT by Miss_J
Some guy in a casino near me actually mucked the bad beat. his quad jacks got busted by quad aces, and he totally blew it.

Posted Mon Jan 02, 2006 3:43 pm GMT by mikenike
stupid reply? yes that was dumb reply on his part.. going off topic. jijacking the thread and adding to his post count. and dougisrad. maybe you gotta do some more reading about me? you know nothing about me. so just shut your mouth.

Show us 10 posts you made that actually made sense or added to a discussion... wait, that's right you can't. Sorry, you lose.

Posted Mon Jan 02, 2006 4:48 pm GMT by mikenike
look me up. youll count them. if you can count that high.

Posted Mon Jan 02, 2006 5:21 pm GMT by Dat_Dude
Mike, I was just giving you a hard time. You are so easy to pick on because
1) You get so defensive
2) There are grammar errors all over your posts, and quite frankly, it makes my head hurt to read them.

I was probably out of line, but I was only half serious.

yea cool. but guess what i don't care to spell... and johnny has to have something to say about everything.. when we don't even give a shit about his thoughts

Posted Mon Jan 02, 2006 9:31 pm GMT by DougisRad
I will gladly look up all your posts shortly. You really haven't ADDED any insight to any poker discussion.

Speaking on the behalf of other, are you? I suppose you've noticed that I'm not the only one that has had something negative to say to you, in fact there are many. The fact of the matter is, your alone here. That is all.

Posted Mon Jan 02, 2006 9:58 pm GMT by DougisRad
Okay, I just looked through ALL of your posts. Most were non-poker related forum, but even some in the poker ones were off topic. The ones related to poker were awful. I feel dumber for having had to read them. Sometimes you speak well, mostly you don't. One time you said you were 19, another time 14. You can't spell, do math, punctuate, or lay off the emoticons.

I was being silly earlier when I said I wanted to haze you. But you truly have done nothing to warrant your ego. I'm not trying to make up crap here, but you're still learning and what not. However, saying something like "I think you should call" is not insightful. I could write "call fold raise" on a sheet of paper, let my dog's nose touch one, and come with the same answer.

I don't like ripping people, but you act like you've single-handedly improved THP's poker skills, when in fact, I think I lost some intelligence reading your posts. And you attacked Geno, which IS NOT COOL!

Posted Mon Jan 02, 2006 10:08 pm GMT by mikenike
ok.. again off topic. and i doubt you've read all my posts and 80% of em have to do with poker and the 20% others are from non poker chat section. and you don't know me. so don't judge what you don't know. and i never attacked geno.. and if i did you didn't understand because it was a joke and i talk to geno daily on msn. so seriously stop talking to me or about me. cause i don't like you and i don't even know you. now stay on topic. unless that was all spam?

Posted Mon Jan 02, 2006 10:12 pm GMT by DougisRad
No, I really read ALL of your posts. And most were off topic or gibberish. I can tally up some stats if you want.

Posted Mon Jan 02, 2006 10:13 pm GMT by zinn0
I love stats...I could look at stats all day long.

We have plenty of NL Tourneys to throw money at. Gotta agree with Dave, live NL would not be my first pick. Plenty of money to be made at the limit tables.

Congratulations on the big hand.

A little off topic, but I stopped in Canterbury on Christmas night, maybe about 8:30-ish.

I wanted to get down the road a bit more, so didn't play, just wanted to see it since I'd never been. I was quite surprised, it was very busy on Christmas night. I bet there was 40 tables or so going.

Posted Tue Jan 03, 2006 11:56 am GMT by Dave B
Yeah, the place is a mad house 24/7. I think they only have 33 tables for now (need State approval to grow). They had a free tournament on Xmas night to get things cranked up again. Plus, w/ college on break, lots of students are playing.

Almost makes me wish I lived in Minnesota

Yeah, if it weren't for the eight months of winter, I might consider moving back up north.

That was 2 days ago, and I've stopped flaming you. Now please be a big boy and do the same. By the way, I don't get picked on at school, I'm 5'10'' and 175lbs, so I wouldn't get picked on for long.
