Old WSOP final tables

Just to let you guys know, they're showing old WSOP final tables (like 1990's) on ESPN classic late at night/early morning.

I watched the 1993 one last night, had a really interesting hand.

3 guys left (Jon Bonetti, Glenn Cozen and some other guy). Bonetti and the other guy had 1 million left, and cozen had roughly 100K. The other guys opens for a raise to 30K, Bonetti calls, Cozen thinks for a long time and calls. Flop comes K x 6, some sort of action causes Cozen to fold and Bonetti and the other guy get all-in off the turn ... Bonetti had AK and the other guy hit a set of 6s. So going into heads up Cozen improved his money by $200K in real money, and the other guy ended up winning on the second heads up hand with about a 20 to 1 chip lead.

I watched the 1979 finals the other days. It was great! Some country music, everybody had nicknames and there was the ugliest shirts known to mankind, and the room was so hazy from smoke it was a wonder the dealers could actually see the cards.

I guess if you cut the music and the smoke it was pretty close to an internet forum.

I had the 1997 Final Table with Stu Unger on my Tivo for a while, but had to take it off to make room for the WSOP TOC.

Stu pulled one of the smoothest bluffs you will see. Check/Raising the flop, value betting the turn, and busting out a post sized bet on the river to get his opponent to fold. I thought he had the nuts, and so did Kaplan and Hellmuth, who were announcing.
