So I'm looking at heading to Vegas in mid-march. One problem. Its going to be me and the Lady going. How can I convince her that it will be a great time and that she won't be bored when I'm playing cards?
What can she do while I'm playing?
Do they have extremely low limit anywhere? I'm sure I could convince her to play but I'd have to bankroll her and not break myself in the process. $1/2 or $2/4?
If we do decide to go, I'll be asking ALOT more questions.
Note: I told her for Xmas and her B-day in January that I would take her on a trip. Was thinking about just getting a kick ass suite at Banff Springs but after looking at prices to go to Vegas or Mexico it just doesn't make sense to go to Banff for a couple days.
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

mid march is about worst time to go if she isnt in to gambling too much. They have NCAA Basketball going all month. All the cool place and good restaurants are pretty crowded-and the weather is just getting warm enough for the pools to open again. It is really a zoo.

Leave her at home - her present is some alone time away from you :D

I'm going to Reno next week, and I'll probably hit up Vegas at the end of March and/or in July. I also want to make it down to SoCal sometime to play at the Bike and the Commerce, and I wouldn't mind hitting up the Bay 101 sometime soon.

Hmm... Not a bad idea. Save cash by not playing for her flight... more money to play cards with :D

I agree with J. she will be bored and all alone. because you'll be at different tables. and that's it. i would agree for mexico or the bahamas. and I could help you out with that. my mom finds some sweet deals. she got me my sister and her tocuba at a 4 and a half star all inclusive for only 1251$ canadian and then. when we got back they gave us 60 bucks in gift certificates to home depot for their service. so just holler, if you need and i'll find a sweet deal for you. or my mom will.

Skribby, I stayed at the Excalibur a couple years ago, and they have a bunch of $1/3 tables. Heck, if she is even so-so at poker, she might even bring you some money back. The players are just like any other low limit players (chasing gut shots, runner-runner flushes, etc.), except they are much worse in general at poker.
Dave B is right about March. If you are a lady, unless you are trying to pick up a man (hey, there's something she could do, jk), March is the worst time of the year.
Another thing to watch out for is that you don't go on the same weekend as the Vegas Nascar race. For 1) All the prices are jacked WAY up, and 2) Well, you can imagine the people you would see everywhere out there.

The number of people out there is insane on Nascar weekend. Wont be able to get a $5 blackjack or relatively low limit poker table anywhere on the strip and the lines for the buffets are an hour long.
What did you think I meant?

I didn't know what you meant, that's why I asked you to explain...

It's tough to find something to do for non gamblers in Las Vegas... I liked the shopping idea though... the fashion show mealle is right across from the Wynn casino.
You might wanna try and get her to bring a girlfriend with her.

The story of my life...
I got her started online now so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully she really takes a liking to it.
