Call me paranoid if you like, but i see this happen so often!
I swear that before i even raised i thought to myself, "no matter what he has he is calling and winning"
Ask me why i did it? I guess i have faith that just maybe one day i will put a shortstack all in, or see a shortstack call an all in and they won't catch that miracle card(s)

I know i was only 2:1 ahead preflop.... but GODDAMN IT!
I might as well have been 4:1 behind
Obviously this doesn't happen every time shorty is all in, but they do get a hell of a lot of second chances!
Is it just me?

Serious question? If so - it can only be that you remember the times that the shorty hits the miracle and forget the times he doesn't.
Maybe, for your own sanity, every time you see a shorty go all-in pre-flop, get called and flip his cards BEHIND, note if he wins or not. Ignore coin flips because you'd need a very big sample to prove that really shorties lose more than they win. I bet it's at least 70/30 against the short stack once you account for the different types of odds they have pre-flop............
