Was this a proper time to fold when the King came on the turn or should I have called the $0.25 bet - I see the Jack on the river but I still am not sure about pot odds and whether or not I should call a bet depending on the odds etc... I felt that once I saw the King it was very likely that I was going to be beat since I only had a Jack - so I folded.
Im playing as "Yaada" and keep in mind I played the J 2 cuz I only have .15 more to call in the small blind.

You had the top pair after the flop-which is a good hand. You should have ignored the K on the turn and made another bet. If they have the K, they will either slow play you or reraise. Slow play-then you get your trips on the river. Reraise-then you know that they likely have your J w/ a bad kicker beat.
Think if it this way-so he had you beat on the turn and you folded, great. What if he had Q 10 and the K game him a str8 draw so he decided to bet since you showed weakness. Now you folded to nothing.

Ok let me see if I understand you correctly. Instead of checking on the turn when the King came I could have just bet for another big bet to see what would happen since the pot odds are good? or had money invested in the pot? 1 more big bet no big deal - he calls I get to see what happens and get the trips. Now if he reraises me then I fold? I should have folded after betting?
2nd question pertaining to your example of Q 10. Had I not Checked on the turn I would not have shown weakness. My checking on the turn showed weakness? Especially in the case of having Q 10 looking for the straight draw.
Basically in not knowing what he has on the turn, by me checking I showed weakness (either way - this example and Q 10 example) and I should have just called, if he reraise then I fold - this is what Im understanding out of that situation- right?

I think you have it. I would like others to comment too.
I play an aggressive style when I am in a hand. I never want to show weakness unless I have a monster hand. From what I saw, there wasnt any preflop raise (which may have indicated AK) or anything else that would have put one of the other players on a K.
You flopped the top pair-that is solid. With only 2 players, the only hands that would likely call with is a board pair or a drawing hand. Fire another bullet on the turn showing that the K doesnt scare you. Now he has a K w/ a good kicker and a str8 draw, he may call or raise. Either way you gain info. If junk comes on the river, I bet small again. If he raises, I am out.
Sometimes betting out in early position is the cheapest way to see cards. If you slow down, people will almost surely bet behind you.
